Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits Review

Kylie Jenner's lip kits just may be the most hyped product of 2015-2016. It has sold out continuously within minutes. She's added more colors and changed up the formula and continues to kill it! After failing the first two times (even though being there the second they were available) I finally was able to snag a few that I wanted to try, and here are my thoughts.

With a price tag of $29 each, and $9 for shipping I only wanted to give a few a try at first to see how I really felt about them. My top two choices were KoKo K and Dolce K which I was able to get! Apparently, Kylie reformulated the newer colors (KoKo K, Posie K and Mary Jo K) so I was interested to see if one of the older shades (Dolce K) would differ from the newer one!

In total, with only purchasing two I paid over $60 for these which I thought was kind of crazy. But you do get a lip-liner and a liquid lipstick which is good.

Packaging/Delivery:

I honestly feel like she should offer free shipping. I mean, the girl sells out in 30 seconds and shipping costs $9! It would be nice if she could offer that.

I have heard of a lot of people not getting their e-mail confirmation or shipping confirmation, however I got mine relatively quickly! Right after I made my purchase I got my confirmation e-mail and then the next day my shipping e-mail came.

However, mine took quite some time to get here. Usually after I get my tracking code packages come within a day or two. This took almost two weeks after I got my shipping code. I'm not sure if this is a UPS issue or what. I will say though, when I e-mailed the Kylie Cosmetics customer service and they were very helpful and tentative to my problem!

When it finally got here I was so impressed by the packaging! From the box it comes in, to the note inside, to the individual boxes the product comes in...it is quite extravagant. It makes it very hard to throw any of it away (hoarder much?!). I love that it really does look like she put a lot of thought and time into this.

Color/Formula:

KoKo K is a gorgeous pale-pink nude. It has been my go-to color ever since I got it!

Dolce K is a nice medium beige nude color. This is perfect if you are looking for the brown-tone nudes that are totally in right now.

Out of the two, I reach for KoKo K more. It just compliments my skin really nicely and is perfect for everyday. Dolce K turned out to be darker on me than I expected, but that could just be because I am very pale right now!

I happen to really enjoy both formulas and can't really tell a difference between the "new and old formulas". They both go on very smoothlydon't flake off on me (like I've heard some people say) and feel very comfortable! If anything I think the formula from the Dolce K liquid lip feels a little better on my lips than KoKo.

Wear time/Feeling:

I'm just going to flat-out say it, these liquid lipsticks legit last all day long. I can wear them through a whole work day, drinking coffee, eating and all-they do not budge! These are the most comfortable full-coverage liquid lipsticks I have ever tried. When they are on I can barely even feel them on my lips. Like most liquid lipsticks, if you don't moisturize before applying they will look cracky and exaggerate fine lines.

Dupes:

When I was first playing around with Dolce K, I realized I might have a few products in my collection that look super similar.

NYX Liquid Suede in Sandstorm is very similar to Kylie Dolce K. Dolce K has a tiny bit of a red undertone, but they are so close on the lips, it's undetectable.

MAC Cosmetics Stripdown lip-liner is so similar to the lip-liner in the Kylie Dolce K kit.

Would I purchase more?

Yes. At this point these are my favorite liquid lipsticks. I can't believe how long they last without looking gross like some other liquid lipsticks do when they wear off. Next I want to try Posey K and Candy K. The next launch date is Monday, February 29th!

Do you want to give the Kylie Lip Kits a try?!
xoxo, Nikole
