For a while now I have been on the hunt for a good dry shampoo. For me my hair doesn't necessarily get oily, but it does get dry and limp. So for me to know I've found a great shampoo, it needs three things...
1. A great smell
2. Give my hair body and life
3. Make it soft to the touch not dry and brittle
I decided to give this dry shampoo from Herbal Essence a try because it smelled amazing and the package claimed it gives first day feel! It was $5.99 and I got mine from my local Wal-Mart.
The smell is like a garden full of roses and every time I have worn it I've gotten so many compliments on how I smell. So this definitely passes the first test for me. Sometimes I don't even need dry shampoo and I'll spritz just a bit on my hair for the smell alone.
Another plus about this dry shampoo is that it does not give a grey cast on the hair that so many do. It actually goes on pretty clear depending on how much you spray and brushes out very nicely.
It also gives a considerably large amount of body which is my second test. When I spray this all over my hair and then rub it in with my fingers it brings life to my dry limp hair which I greatly appreciate.
The one downfall to this product which is a huge downfall for me, is that it does not make my hair soft or feel like a first day clean. Yes, it may smell like first day clean but I absolutely hate when I run my fingers through my hair and can feel that I have something in there. It makes my hair feel like it has a lot of product buildup and not soft at all.
I will continue to use this product for the smell alone, and maybe a little on the underside of my hair just to add some volume, but I don't know if I can deal with the feeling it gives me when I spray it all over my hair. So basically I'll be using it as a hairspray not as a dry shampoo. If you are particular about how your hair feels I would not recommend this product to you if you're looking for a dry shampoo.
What is your favorite dry shampoo?!
xoxo, Nikole
