5 Beauty Tricks Using Baking Soda

Some of the most universal products for beauty use can be found where you least expect them. It doesn't necessarily need to be in the beauty isle to be an amazing product for unconventional uses! For example, baking soda. You would think to add it to cookies to make them rise...but here are 5 AMAZING tricks for using baking soda for beauty related purposes!

  • Whitening your teeth: You can purchase toothpaste with baking soda as one of the ingredients because naturally it is a whitening product! Or, if you just have some laying around mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda, with a cap-full of hydrogen peroxide, and a teaspoon of water (these are the main ingredients in ANY whitening product on the market). It should make a paste like consistency, then apply to your teeth either with your finger or an old toothbrush! Leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then rinse it out! So easy and you're not spending $30 bucks for whitening strips!

  • Remove the yellow stains on your finger nails: We all know it, when you leave nail polish on for way to long and once you remove it you are left with those horrible yellow stains on your finger nails? Well to easily remove those unwanted stains just mix up some baking soda an water together and then apply the mixture to your nails! It will make them look like new!

  • Get rid of blackheads: One of the most annoying things ever is having those blackheads on your nose that you just cannot seem to get rid of! And how painful are those blackhead strips? An easy solution is mixing up a teaspoon of baking soda, with a cup of water. Hold your head over the sink or a bowl of steaming water to open your pores. Then apply with (clean) hands the baking soda mixture to the areas where you would like to clear up. Let sit for around 10 minutes and then either with a cotton ball or a clean towel start to wash away the mixture.

  • Dry shampoo: For those days you slept in too late and don't have time to shower, baking soda can be a lifesaver! Sprinkle a SMALL amount onto your hair let sit for a few seconds, and then brush it out with a comb. It will soak up the oil and leave your hair looking fresh, the best part is...no grey look that other dry shampoos might leave behind!

  • Deodorant: It's 80 degrees, you have to be outside all day and you just realized  that you ran out of deodorant. No need to panic, just walk into the kitchen and find that old box of baking soda. Take a few scoops of baking soda and add it to some water to make a paste. You then can apply it to the underarm area to keep you fresh all day! It is amazing at preventing sweat stains and actually will help limit odor!

Do you know of any other beauty tricks for baking soda?!
